FADING SHADES

Released on June 12th 1995, Fading Shades represents a period of transition and experimentation for Sandra. This album, her seventh studio release, came at a time of significant personal and professional changes in her life. It marked a departure from the mainstream pop sound that had defined her earlier work, embracing a more introspective and experimental approach.

Produced by Michael Cretu, Fading Shades explores darker and more atmospheric themes, reflecting a more mature and reflective side of Sandra. The album’s lead single, “Nights in White Satin,” a cover of The Moody Blues’ classic, is one of the standout tracks, showcasing Sandra’s ability to reinterpret and bring new life to a well-known song. The haunting and emotional rendition was well-received and became one of her later-career hits.

Another notable track is “I Need Love,” which continues the album’s exploration of complex emotions and personal themes. The production on Fading Shades is characterized by a mix of electronic elements and rich, layered arrangements, which add depth and texture to Sandra’s vocal performances.
